An author can write loads of information down in text and in diagrams, but if the student does not read it then it is pointless. This is the same philosophy found in the texts of the Suzuki Method, and numerous other methods found in other instruments. I researched and experimented with my drum teaching, and found that most students basically ignored text which was written in books. My reasoning is based on the years of research I did in my Master of Music degree. My books DO NOT have lots of text… let me tell you why! There are basically two types of tutor book available – Those that have a great deal of text and explanation, and those that don’t. It is written in achievable, definable steps, and includes everything that is needed at the fundamental level. It is designed to be a complete workbook system to work through with a teacher. It is NOT full of technical explanations and text.It is NOT designed for teaching yourself at home.It is NOT a “teach yourself the drums” method.This book contains everything you need to learn drums – and nothing you don’t!įirstly let me tell you what this package is NOT
